I love the Kirkland office because of its great location. There's a marina right outside our office that we have a view of with lots of boats and just a wonderful lake. Walking through the front door you'll see the views out onto Lake Washington and Seattle and the Olympic mountains beyond that. Probably one of the best things about the Kirkland
office is over my shoulder right now; I mean there's mountains, there's lakes, there's ducks, there's seaplanes, and on top of that there's a fantastic group of people who are excited about being here. Kirkland office is unique in that in this office alone we have so many different parts of GoDaddy represented. We've got a lot of leaders here, we've got a ton of individual leaders, and they're from every group. On a given day I'll talk to someone from our IT team, people opps, marketing, sales, you know, there's eight or ten different development groups here, so the breadth we have here is fascinating. The most surprising part was how open and friendly the culture was and how friendly the people were. People collaborate and people are willing to work with me to solve problems and actually help customers. It's incredible. It's a very relaxed laid back culture and at the same time everyone is very passionate about what they do, but everyone does everything at their own pace and there's this trust going on that everyone knows what their responsibilities are and they will get them done. There is a great camaraderie between the teams, good collaboration. The space is really designed for it so you'll often see teams gathering in small groups and working at whiteboards, just a lot of openness and transparency in the culture. I think one of the perks that I liked the most is we have this really really long dining room table and everyone sits down and eats at the table and it's just nice to be able to get up from your desk, talk with people that you don't normally get to work with, and it kind of makes it feel like a smaller community even though the company is growing. My advice for anyone looking to work at GoDaddy is to really take advantage of the opportunity to come in, talk with the teams, get to know some if the team members, understand some of the challenges that we're facing, and how you might be a fit in helping us solve those challenges. It really is an incredible place to work.
