Email forwarders are useful when you want to forward emails that come to one email account to another email account. This is especially useful in cases where you don't want to physically have manage multiple email accounts but instead have all your sales@, info@, webmaster@, ans so on go straight into a single master email account.

A common technique being employed these days is the practice of having an actual email account where your receive and manage your company emails but also have a forwarder set up so that a back up coy of incoming emails are also sent to a external email account such as gmail or ymail for archival purposes.
