Hi everyone, Eric here, and I got my man Jops

here with me today to talk about your website strategy.

You decided to build it yourself, that's awesome,

pat on your back, but it can be a little overwhelming

especially if you've never done one before.

So, we're gonna get the strategy down

and we even got a cool website hack sheet to kinda

help you get organized and the wheels turning.

First things is, describe the type of site that

you wanna be building.

Is this gonna be a professional site

for your firm, or is this gonna be a more

lighthearted-type site for your wedding?

Knowing this will keep your content and your tone

on pace for what you're trying to do.

The second thing we need to consider is

who are you building the site for?

Who is your target audience?

If you can keep that in mind when you're building,

then it's gonna be easier to really pick out

content and all the other stuff you're gonna need to do.

Who are you inviting to the party?

What are their likes and dislikes?

Remember, the site is for them, not for you.

Right.

Third, identify the features and functionality

of the site that you're gonna be including.

If you're gonna have a lot of pictures,

you may need a slideshow.

If you're gonna do a mailing list you'll need to find

a way to get those email addresses.

Yeah, like a Contact Us form?

Right, and knowing those features and functionalities

is gonna help you find the right tools for the job

that you'll need.

Yep.

So, all of this now gets wrapped up

for the fourth, final thing, which is

set a goal for the website.

Is it working for your business'S needs?

Be specific.

Right, treat your website as an employee.

Is it working for you?

If you don't set goals, you'll never know.

And there you have it.

Four simple things that will keep you

and your website on track.

to help keep you organized.
