Always having to cut and tie clothing to fit her just right, Alvina knows all too well the frustration that comes with women’s clothing sizes. She decided to create an outfit with wrap functionality, making it easy to fit each woman’s unique frame. Energized by her innovative project, she left her job at Gap corporate to take her brand full-time. Each Baliawear piece is handmade locally from hand-selected, luxurious and wrinkle-free fabrics. A portion of every sale goes to Trekking for Kids, a nonprofit that helps build orphanages around the world. Alvina shares the story behind taking Baliawear full time, the important lessons she learned in her corporate career and advice for entrepreneurs ready to take the leap.
