What’s a Jab, Jab, Jab, Right What? In this episode I bread down the inner workings of every social media campaign, ever. Plus, a full review of the book Thank You Economy & Jab, Jab, Jab, Right Hook by Garry Vavaynerchuk.
When it comes to social media, there is a lot of advice out there on how to “use it” or “leverage it” to build your “online presence” and “create awareness.” What does that even mean? I’ll give you the answer to that question without watching the video; nothing. Seriously, nothing.
The whole point of social media is to connect with other people. That’s it. It’s a game of engagement, not posting and content. For some reason, as soon as we start talking about social media for business, everything we naturally do goes out the window, and we start over as if what a business should post is completely different from what a person should.
The reality is the content and context shouldn’t change because at the end of the day, you are always talking to people. This is just one of the many take always I got from these two books. The Thank Economy has one clear message: Engage with every customer on every channel.
Practically this means replaying to every comment you get. Always. Even if it’s just a short “appreciate the love” or “thank you.” Too many business just post, post, post, and then wonder why no one is responding. It’s because we as business owners should respond and engage first; then others will follow.
