Networking is something that a ton of people are underestimating and it is a mistake. The power of networking is in many cases going to be a pivotal point that gets you where you want to be or a lack of it can be the reason you don't move forward.
People matter more than paperwork. The right credentials, the right pedigree, it's all irrelevant if someone is better connected and equally or 80% as talented. Opportunity is often a matter of serendipity but you can create moments of serendipity by showing up and delivering.
That second part matters a lot. Delivering on your promise. That matters too. So many entrepreneurs are just bravado, being able to back it up make a huge difference.
