A WordPress booking calendar or WordPress appointment form is a must for any service company. They aren't hard to create and can be free to make.

In this tutorial we're to use the free Contact Form 7 plugin to create the form and then add a Datepicker so that people can choose when they require your services.

Once they submit the form you will need to contact them to confirm and possibly find a different date and time that works for everyone if the date and time don't work.

That's the major drawback of doing it the free way. If you want to spend a few dollars a month you can create an automated booking system.

You can create a calendar with specific dates and times that you are available.

The customer can then choose from those dates and times.

If some requests a specific date and time, it will be removed from the calendar so future visitors can't choose that time as well.

You could have system communicate with specific people in your business so they can do the tasks they need to do.

You can have a system that sends SMS messages to the customer the day before the service to ensure that it is still a go.

The stuff you can do these days is pretty awesome, but that's not this video.

Here we are using free tools to create a basic appointment form.

The first thing you have to do is install two plugins.

To install this plugin please log into your WordPress dashboard, hover over Plugins and then click on Add New.

On the next page type "Contact" into the search bar. The plugin we want should be the first one in the top left.

Click on the Install Now button and then click Activate after it's installed.

Then follow the same steps to install the Contact Form 7 Datepicker plugin.

Now create the form you want your clients or customers to fill out. Then add the date picker module so that they can choose a date and time.

Once it's all set up make sure you test it to make sure it works. If you don't get the email working try the Flamingo Plugin for Contact Form 7.

This plugin will store all Contact Form 7 submissions in your database for easy access.

Once that's all done you should be ready to start accepting service appointment requests through this form.
