Season 01 of Dear Entrepreneurs has come to an end, but the series was a great creative experience and challenge. It was really different to shoot and edit everything from the phone and do less polished content that was still high value.

You can do video or YouTube or anything else with the tools you have available to you, and I hope this series taught you that if nothing else going forward.

One of the questions I get asked the most is "why if you have 100K subs do you not have more views on YouTube". Some have even accused my subs of being fake or not real people.

Without sounding too defensive its a really stupid question with a fairly obvious answer. The simple fact is that even with traditional media not everyone watches every show on a channel or every episode of the show they do watch. Period. YouTube is no different and is much noisier and competitive for attention than that.

It has nothing to do with subscribers. As for the notion of buying subscribers, I've never hidden my disgust for people who do that. It's lame. If I was going to spend money on anything that wasn't the operating of the actual business I do day in and day out, I'd spend it on advertising, or going to more conferences, or jumping ahead on paying taxes, or putting more money in my retirement fund. Period.

Spending money on YouTube subs or views does nothing for you and doesn't make you any money. Spending money on social media vanity metrics is something only the ignorant do, because it doesn't move the needle on their business or their real goals. Just like people who do like for like and sub for sub.

I'd rather just spend that money getting my next $5000 client.

So, I focus on the things that either create value for you guys or adds to the bottom line of my business or grows my personal happiness.
