#5 compatibility since your plugins are created by third party developers you'll want to back up your site before updating in case the plugins are no longer compatible with WordPress.

To make sure you are up to date, go to your Dashboard, Updates to make sure you're running the latest.

You can install and activate the WP Updates Notifier plugin then go to Settings, Updates notifier to configure the plugin.

From here you can add your email to get updates and if you want to auto update your site install and activate the easy updates manager plugin and choose what all to update automatically.
