If you've created a Google form and want to embed it to any site, this tutorial is going to be of particular interest to you. WPLL is all about WordPress so this tutorial will be about embedding a Google form to your WordPress site. However, the process is similar, if not the same for all sites that allow you to edit or add HTML code. Let's get started.

One more thing before we start. If you're a newbie to google forms and you don't have one created, you should check out this tutorial first (YouTube link). This is a complete walkthrough of how to create and use Google forms. Once you've done that, come back to this article. Or you can stay here and follow this tutorial, no pressure •

For those of you who already have a Google form created, the first step is to go to your Google forms dashboard which is located here https://docs.google.com/forms/

Find the Google form you want to embed and click on it to open it.

Next click on the SEND button in the top right to open your send options.

You'll see a dialogue box that looks like this with your send options:

You can send the form via e-mail, link or use the embed option which I'll use in this tutorial. It is the last tab that has two angle brackets for an icon.

Click on it to open the embed tab. If there's an error saying that you can't embed, make sure that a file upload question isn't present in your Google form. Having upload questions won't allow embedding so if you have an upload go to your Google form delete the it.

After you do that, the embed option will become available.

When it's available, it looks like this.

Before you copy the iframe code you can change the width and height.

When you're ready click on the iframe code and click on copy.

Adding The Embed Code to Your Page

Now to your WordPress dashboard and find the post or page you want to add the Google form to. Or create a new page by hovering over Pages and then clicking on Add New.

Next, make sure that you're on the text editor by clicking on the Text (HTML) tab.

After that, paste the iframe code you copied from your Google form and click on Publish.

Voila! You have your own Google form embedded on your WP site. It should look something like this:

Removing The Form Scroll Bar

Once you've embedded the form, you can optimize it and edit it according to your preferences. In the video tutorial, I've shown how you can adjust the height in order to avoid a scroll bar on the longish questions. It's a mouthful to type that process out, so if you want to see that just skip ahead in the video.

One you've started collecting responses the real fun starts.

Google Form Responses

You'll find the responses by heading back to the Google Form and clicking on the RESPONSES tab. The number in the tab is the number of responses. They are updated in real-time so you don't need to refresh the form page to see when new responses are submitted.

By opening the RESPONSES tab you can see aggregate data about all the responses by viewing the SUMMARY tab. You can see each individual response by clicking on the INDIVIDUAL tab.
