In this Freelancer Q&A, we'll talk about whether it's a good idea to create Facebook ads to get new web design freelancing clients.

The short answer is YES, you absolutely can and it's a great idea to test out this client acquisition method, not just so you become familiar for your own business, but so you can implement Facebook advertising for your clients and bring them more leads (and you more money).

The important thing to remember is that you'll never create an ad campaign and have it work perfectly from the first day.

To find success with advertising, you need to:

- Target well (which is why picking a niche matters)
- Be willing to spend and learn (view this as education)
- Track conversions to know what's working
- Test new ideas
- Refine your sales process after a lead comes in

I've spent thousands on ads, and have wasted a lot of that money which didn't turn into income. But like I said, I see this is an investment that will pay off down the road when you become an expert with the platform.
