When it comes to building an online business, done is always better than perfect. You never know what is or isn’t going to work until you test. Testing is your best friend because it gives you the data needed to make the right decisions. Particularly when it comes to lead generation.

At the same time, it can feel a bit weird launching something you know isn’t ready. Putting up a landing page you wrote in 5 minutes or selling a product you think is only half done. And yet, time and time again I find in my own business those are the times where the most progress is made.

In the past I would spend months putting together a course only to have no one buy because I built the wrong thing… yikes! For your own digital marketing efforts, the “done is better than perfect” mentality will push you further faster in your business because it will force you to take no breaks. Taking a “break” to double check something is lead generation testing time wasted. Test, test, and then test again.

Today for example looking at one of my landing page I realized that having a split test running is probably a good idea. So, I took 5 hours to set it up. Imagine for a moment investing 5 hours on a page test that only gets 5 visits. Ouch. So, would you rather spend 5 hours and get nothing, or get something and wish you’d spent the 5 hours?

Personally, I’ll take option two and keep building as fast as I can. If I look back to see something works, then I can go back and fix it to work properly. Happy lead generation testing!
