When you don't have a staging site and you need to make some quick changes to your production website, it's a good idea to put WordPress in maintenance mode.

It's also a good idea to create a backup of your site before you make any changes. That way you can revert back to a good copy of your site in case something goes wrong.

You can use the same process I show in this video to create a "coming soon" page for your site or your client's site.
