You have SO many options with themes and page builders. Do I like page builders? Sure, but I like to use them to build individual pages on a site, not for the WHOLE website.

But even still, I almost always go with a theme from theme forest as you get updates for life, the theme looks great, and it's not too overwhelming to create a website fast.

The thing with page builders and themes like Astra and OceanWP is that you're given a blank slate. This is ok, but do you really want to spend the next month tweaking the design of your site or do you want to have a beautiful site up and running fast?

So here is my personal break down:

Astra + Elementor = A great combo to create small niche/ topical websites. Unless you buy Astra pro and Elementor Pro and are willing to learn how to use the tools you're simply not going be able to create a stunning website.

Genesis + child = StudioPress create solid, fast, well coded themes. They have a whole learning center that walks you through how to edit your individual theme. They are a bit pricey, but you get updates for life.

X Theme = A bit bloated now, but still a solid option if you want a full featured theme with a full featured page builder.

Theme Forest = Beautiful themes and you get updates for life.

What do I personally use? I like Astra + Elementor for simple content driven websites. Otherwise I use theme forest themes. They have so many options, you can find one with the perfect design for your specific website niche.
