In this episode of 301 Permanent Redirect Series, a trio of web developers take on a fun, spontaneous project: strategically design one-of-a-kind advertising that’ll drive more traffic to client sites. With little experience in web design, the web devs use tools such as Over by GoDaddy to unleash their creative side and pull off unique projects, boosting their skills so they can offer more solutions for their clients.

1. Jump-start your creative process with a Photoshop mood board or a Pinterest board: (01:20)
Since we are on a short timeline, I went ahead and brought up my Pinterest board and my notes that I made. I really like using Pinterest for different types of mood boards and vision boards. I'm going to organize this a little bit and then start working.

2. Creating a logo from scratch can be daunting. Get started with a logo template in the Over app: (01:57)
My challenge is to create a couple of Instagram pictures for a business called Rosetta's Corner, but I'm thinking that the best place to start is to make a logo. So I’ll just start a new project. I'll pick a transparent one, because I want my logo to work pretty much anywhere. Honestly, I am not good at making any kind of logo, so what I'm going to try to do is find a graphic that looks like what I would like.

3. Inspire customer response with a strong call to action: (02:10)
So I'm thinking on a Facebook advertisement, we want them to be directed directly to the website to check out the virtual tour or the virtual walkthrough. So I'm kind of trying to focus something where I could see schedule your tour or take a virtual tour.

4. Use a filter to create quick visual consistency: (04:15)
Something that I decided to do was go through and add filters to all of the images to create some consistency.
