Today we dive into my ad account to see how the latest YouTube ad campaign performed. There is so much to learn with it comes to channel growth, yet for some reason I rarely see people talking about using YouTube ads.

So, in this complete YouTube ads tutorial for analysis I'll walk you through the 3 metrics I look at for evaluating a campaigns success. When you run a campaign, the fastest way to get lost in the data is to not have a clear KPI focus on.

Having 1 metric to focus on allows you to put analysis paralysis in check and take action on the data you collect. Something that I do differently than most is view ads as a never-ending experiment. Every campaign is just a test to collect data. The only time a campaign fails is when you fail to set it up correctly or test too many data points at once.

To keep your campaigns clean, only test one variable at a time. In this case, I'm testing different channel and audience targeting. So all the ads are the exact same. If I had 3 campaigns each with different targeting AND a different video ad, there would be no way to compare them.

So, when you test your own ads, on whatever platform, always test one variable at a time; the messaging or the targeting. The messaging being your ad or ad type and the targeting being the audience.
