Some sites allow user registration but don't know how to control what the users see. You can limit what controls are available or you can simply remove any dashboard access. In this video, we will show you how to limit dashboard access in WordPress.

Summary of this Tutorial:

Start by installing and activating the Remove Dashboard Access plugin.

This will add a new section under Settings called Dashboard Access.

In the options you can select which user roles get access to the dashboard.

You also have the choice to limit by capability and redirect users without the right privilege to a different URL.

There is an option to allow profile editing but this will disable the URL redirect.

If you wanted to edit what is visible for select roles you would need to check out our Adminimize guide.

One final way to protect your admin directory would be password protecting your admin directory using our guide.
