Do webinar replays increase sales? How about your brand and market positioning? In this episode of building an online business from scratch, I outline the pros and cons of doing a webinar replay so you can decide if it’s something you should do in your business.

In doing research for this episode, I am across a lot of advice about webinar funnels and how they should be structured. One of the key elements of a webinar funnel is the replay. Some experts say you must have one in your webinar funnel in order to boost sales. Others say webinar replays should never be offered because it can hurt your brand in the long run.

So, which is it? Here’s a little preview of the pros and cons I talk about in this week’s episode.

On the pro side, there is the ability to capture people who didn’t show up or left the webinar early. Some experts say that upwards of 50% of their webinar funnel sales come from the replays, so they swear by them. What makes this such a powerful tool is it can insure that everyone sees your end of webinar pitch. The more people who see your offer, the more people will buy, right? That’s the line of thinking anyway.

Then we have the con side. Since the whole point of a webinar funnel is to drive people to a webinar, critics say that offering a replay just diminishes the value and power of the actual webinar. Why should your leads show up to the live webinar when they can just watch the replay? Another con of providing a webinar replay is the inability to say there will be no webinar replay. Being able to say there is no webinar replay throughout your webinar funnel is a very powerful scarcity tool you give up by offering a replay.
