Secure Passwords with LastPass - Create Secure Passwords & Store Them Safely | WP Learning Lab
Creating secure passwords is easier today than it every was. There is software that can help you create difficult to break passwords in seconds. The hardest part now is remembering all of those passwords!
If you spend any time on the internet at all you probably have accounts with at least 20 different websites. And you're told that each website account needs to have a different, unique and hard-to-break (read: hard-to-remember) password otherwise your online safety and internet security are compromised.
So, how do we keep it all straight? I use an app called LastPass as my password manager. You can store passwords in it and you can use it to create passwords using all the latest password tricks.
You can access LastPass via your internet browser using convenient extensions and on your smart phones other mobile devices.
There is of course the risk that LastPass is hacked one day so I don't keep everything in there. I have one important rule when using LastPass, you can adopt this rule to if you like, or don't. I never store REALLY important passwords in it.
For example, I don't store banking passwords, credit card passwords or any account passwords where my personal information could be compromised. Those passwords I keep safely in my head.
