How to Build Your Personal Brand: Coming up with content ideas for videos, blogs and podcast. Coming up with an idea for your video or article or podcast interview is one the hardest things people tell me they struggle with when it comes to content marketing. Content marketing is a key component of personal branding. In fact I would say that in building your personal brand, having a strong focus on what content you are using to market yourself is the foundation of your brand, beyond the personal brand story.

When you need to come up with ideas for your videos or any other type of content there are a few approaches you can take:

Create, Document, Curate, Crowdsource.

Creating original content is usually the hardest one, but you should focus on doing content you know and are passionate about or talk about things you are good at and have experience with.

When it comes to documenting, you can show a process, or just capture events as they happen. Maybe you vlog about your day or maybe you capture an event.

Curating content is something that just about anyone can do. You can interview people or put together list.

Crowdsourcing content, means going to your community or a community you're a part of and asking them questions to generate your content.

For my own content, I usually do a combinations of these, but I want to actually expand on the type of content I do and involve more curation and documenting in the future.
