Completed your Wix site? Awesome! But before you post it to every social network and send your mother a link, take a few minutes to go over this checklist to make sure you didn’t forget any important detail.
Scan your site - Wix templates use placeholder text and buttons, so make sure you didn’t forget to remove default content or links you don’t need. Test all of the internal links and buttons on your website to make sure they’re working.
Also double check that your external links are updated. Make sure all of the images on your site have alt text with relevant keywords. Check that all of the important pages on your site have a unique page title and description that includes your keywords.
Send yourself a test email to ensure that your contact form is well connected to your email address. Make sure all of the important information on your site is within the gridlines and essential details are above the fold.
Make sure your contact details are clearly visible. We recommend putting them in the website header or footer, because this is where visitors will look for them. You should also link your email address so customers can contact you in a single click.
Create a link from your business name or logo on the header, to your homepage. Site visitors are used to clicking on a logo to redirected to the main page.
And finally, remove any unwanted text from image titles, as titles are visible when a visitor hovers over an image. It would be a shame to have a stunning, professional website where a picture has visible text that reads “copy of img4667”.
