Calypso: A great writing app for WordPress

I finally had a chance to revisit and use Calypso after about a year of it being on the back-burner. Matt Mullenweg's recent State of the Word has placed the app front and center for the future of WordPress website management, so I thought it would be a good time to see how the app has progressed.

While you can't manage *all* content or all aspects of your site, what you can access, is quote snappy. Editing posts, managing media, and configuring settings are a breeze in this native app look-n-feel. I did encounter one crash during my testing, losing a few sentences of text, but that was the only time I experienced an issue.

One thing that bugs me is the cross-branding between WordPress.com and self-hosting WordPress installs, so I'm very interested to see where that goes into 2017, and beyond.

Overall I think it's a great solution for publishing posts to your WordPress site, and it looks like it's only going to get better.
