Ernest Duncan: Hi, my name is Ernest Duncan, and I'm the owner of Experimac Midtown Atlanta. We buy, we sell, we trade, and we repair Apple Devices. Growing up I think about all the entrepreneurs that were in my family, and that rubbed off on me. And I knew at some point in my life I wanted to be an entrepreneur. When I think about what stopped me from becoming an entrepreneur earlier in my life, I think it was just the fear of “can I do it on my own?” But I got to the point with the encouragement of my husband to just, just do it. It was there, but he just gave me that push I needed to just go ahead and do it. This is my husband Lentheus.
Lentheus Chaney: Yeah, that's who I am. When we initially met I had no idea that he had any inkling of opening a business. This was something that I found out later on as we got to know each other. So I was kind of able to give him the push to go ahead and step out, and open up a business. The moment that I was most proud of him was the day that we actually got the space and we walked inside, and he stood here and said “I did it.” We knew for sure that this is where we were supposed to be.
ED: Yeah, yeah. This is the spot. I see my business in five years being a pillar. We support everyone in the community and I think when people of color come through the door, when people of different sexualities come through the door, I think they feel at home. And that's important to me because that's what I want to feel wherever I go as well.
LC: Looking back a year ago, if there was anything that I could say to him now, I would say that I'm extremely proud and amazed at what you've done.
